Tuskegee University
Tuskegee University is a private historically black university in Tuskegee, Alabama. Founded in 1881 by Booker T. Washington, it is a land-grant institution offering programs in agriculture, engineering, health professions, business, arts and sciences, and more. Tuskegee is renowned for its historical significance (including the Tuskegee Airmen training during WWII) and unique programs like its College of Veterinary Medicine, which has trained a large percentage of African-American veterinarians.
